This home is a perfect example of where old meets new. The original house was stunning in its own right with weatherboard exterior, VJ board lining the interior walls and stained glass windows throughout . However the back of the house was in urgent need of an update and partial extension. Needing to retain the character at the front of the home due to council regulations, HBE Architects designed a modern upgrade to the back of the home.

This included a total renovation to the upstairs kitchen, dining and living spaces and an upper deck was also added. The lower part of the back of the house was also renovated with upgrades to the masterbedroom, ensuite and family room.

An outdoor entertainment area with an outdoor kitchen and a pool were then added to make the renovation complete. This was a collaborative effort between HBE Architects and Nest Bespoke Homes and the end result turned out to be the perfect juxtaposition of Queenslander finesse and modern contemporary style.
